Translation

I am able to receive your documents for translation on paper or in any of the following electronic formats: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Visio, plain text, RTF, Pages, HTML, PHP, SGML, XML (including DITA, DocBook, SVG and XHTML), PDF, InDesign, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, FrameMaker and PageMaker.

For documents submitted electronically, rest assured that the formatting and layout of your text will be preserved as the translated content is always inserted by overwriting.

By using state-of-the-art tools and methods, I am able to guarantee that tags and other content not to be translated in your files, regardless of their format, will be protected during translation.

Editing

The main editorial tasks I commonly perform on English-language documents are as follows:

- Project Editing

Coordinating and editing a project from proposal or rough manuscript to final manuscript, incorporating input from authors, consultants, or reviewers.

- Substantive or Structural Editing

Clarifying or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure.

- Stylistic Editing

Clarifying meaning, eliminating jargon, polishing language, and other non-mechanical line-by-line editing. Drawing the attention of the client to unclear or ambiguous passages in the text.

- Checking of facts, citations, or references

- Copy Editing

Editing for grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style. Checking for consistency of presentation and for internal consistency of facts and terminology.
